The question monthly budgets never answer
At lunch you don’t ask “what’s my monthly envelope?”
You ask: can I spend this today?
Most finance apps either wire into your bank on day one, or dump a monthly total on you and leave the mental math to you. Payday is built around the daily decision.
What Payday is
Payday is a local-first personal finance app for Europe. One number sits at the centre of the product:
Safe to spend today — until your next payday.
Around that number:
- Income that already arrived (counts fully today, not diluted across remaining days)
- Bills, subscriptions, installments
- Savings and investments
- Lending — money you borrowed or lent, lump sum or installments, with cadence
No bank login required to start. Your data lives on the device (SQLite). English UI. Euro-native money math.
Coming soon
We’re in soft TestFlight with early testers while we polish for the App Store and Google Play.
Next stage after the core loop — shared money without becoming a bank:
- Split & group expenses (trips, dinners, weekends away)
- Group loans (fronted cash that stays visible until settled)
- Shared household accounts (rent, utilities, flatmates)
Later: optional EU open banking, smarter notifications, home-screen widgets.
The product ships clarity first. Shared money next. Connections later.
Built the ByronDevLab way
Observable flows, integer cents, local dates, and deterministic budget math — so the number you see is correct on purpose, not by accident.
